This might seem like a strange post to write for a business website but…stay with me here.
When I decided to start my own consulting business, I also decided to limit social media accounts linked to it. This included the decision to not have a Facebook page. The reasoning was, social media already took up so much of my time for my personal blog and I wanted to focus my efforts on growing my tools and resources for clients on my consulting page – rather then spending time on social media.
Then I went to Problogger 2015 (for those of you who don’t know, Problogger is a blogging conference held in QLD each year). During this constant themes of knowing your “why” were echoed. You need to ask yourself why you are doing what you do.
Why is your why important? It’s necessary to understand why you are doing something, to really do well at it and help others.
So I thought about my “why” for this consulting business. And really it evolved from a desire to help people who had a real passion for their blog but were often confused and overwhelmed by the technical side of things.
Where do most of these people hang out? Facebook of course.
So if I really want to help these people, instead of hiding behind a website I should put myself out there and start the damn Facebook page. Then I can build a community of bloggers and creative type folk, who really truly love what they are doing but are being pulled down by the technical.
So here we are. What will I share on this page? Glad you asked:
- My favourite resources for saving time and your sanity
- Questions of you, my readers – to see what you’re struggling with
- Any posts I write – whether it be how to do certain tasks or even big picture stuff, like goal setting
- Later on all the stuff I really hope can help people – courses on how to use analytics, wordpress fixes and how to get your time back – all that good stuff!
And of course anything you ask for – cause I want to help you!
So please share with anyone you know who has a blog (about anything really) and could use a little “help” sometimes. Let’s work it out together!
Welcome to my site. I hope you enjoy what you find.
