If you’re new to the world of WordPress, you’re probably hearing a lot of terminology being thrown around…terminology that doesn’t mean much to you! I’m sure one of those terms might be a “theme”…and so you’re probably wondering what is a WordPress theme?

In very basic terms, think of WordPress as the base your website sits on, and a theme as what controls the “look” and styling of the website. Plugins help with functionality, or what the website does (for example, adding a contact form). As I say, this is a very simple explanation and not technically correct, but I think it’s the easiest way to explain it!
